Fall is well on its way, and time is running out to get your car ready for the cooler weather. Checking the lighting system and looking for scratches and dents are just two ways to make sure your car is ready for the coming season. Here are a few more tips to help prep your Kia for fall.
Examine the Tires
Your Kia’s tires are responsible for keeping your car firmly planted on the road. Tires that lack enough tread to maintain proper traction can become a major safety issue. Examining the tires for any damage, such as bulging, can help catch problems before they cause a blowout or accident.
Create an Emergency Kit
Every car should be stocked with an emergency kit. Depending on the climate, your car’s emergency kit should include a blanket, extra clothes, a flashlight with batteries, and bottled water. A first-aid kit wouldn’t hurt either!
Change the Oil
Ideally, drivers should change their vehicle’s oil every season. Since oil plays three major roles in the engine block, it’s important to make sure the oil is up to par. In order to ensure the oil cools, lubricates, and protects engine components properly, drivers would do well to get their Kia’s oil changed for fall.
Check the Spare Tire
One of the most commonly missed service areas is the spare tire. While no driver wants to have to use their spare tire, making sure it’s properly inflated and securely stored ensures that it’s available if necessary. Adjust the spare tire to the manufacturer-recommended pressure, just in case.

While we might think of car care as a winter concern, summer presents its own challenges for drivers. With a little planning, though, you can easily keep your car in shape all year long. Follow these summer car maintenance tips and get ready to enjoy the warmer weather.
Between freezing temperatures, salt, ice, and snow, winter can put a lot of strain on your car’s windshield wipers by the time summer rolls around. If yours are bent, damaged, or just not working like they used to, it’s best to replace them now before they cause more harm than good.
Monitor coolant system
Keeping your vehicle’s coolant system in good working order is crucial. Luckily, doing so is easy. This summer, check on your coolant fluid levels and fill them if necessary. Also, keep an eye out for leaks at connection points under the hood.
Check on tires
Now that winter is over, it’s the perfect time to take stock of your tires’ health. Make sure the whole set is properly inflated, aligned, and has adequate tread. You might also consider switching to a dedicated set of warm weather tires.
Wash and wax
It might seem like a purely cosmetic concern, but washing and waxing your vehicle’s exterior prevents the buildup of harmful residues than can cause things like rust damage over time. So, now that the snow has passed, be sure to visit the car wash throughout the season.
If your summer vehicle maintenance requires new car parts, then be sure to make a trip to Jack Miller Kia Parts this summer.
As the weather heats up, it’s time to pack your bags and hit the road with the family for a summer road trip. Set out to visit family members, visit a national park near or far, or head to the coast for some fun in the sun. Before you do so, however, there are a few key steps you should take to prepare. Here’s a guide to planning a road trip with your Kia.
1. Plan Your Trip from Start to Finish:
When planning your trip, you’ll want to decide on all the major destinations you want to visit and set up accommodations accordingly. Although you’ll likely be taking a GPS navigation system or using your smartphone’s navigation capabilities, you’ll want to plan out your general route. It’s also worthwhile to have an idea of where you’ll take stops.
2. Save Up for the Trip and Make a Budget:
Rather than spending a lot on the front-end of your trip and pinching pennies on the back-end, you’ll want to budget out your trip per day in terms of food, lodging, and activities.
3. Make Sure Your Kia is Road-Trip Ready:
Before setting out, you will want to have any necessary routine maintenance performed on your Kia. You will also want to check your tires, tire pressure, windshield wipers, and air conditioning system.
If you need some repairs done before your big summer excursion, be sure to bring your vehicle to Jack Miller Kia Parts.

When preparing your car for the warmer months of the year, there are a few parts of the vehicle you should keep in mind that need to be replaced or checked. We at Jack Miller Kia Parts can provide professional service and car parts to drivers who need to prep for spring.
Get New Wiper Blades
Spring rain can become a hazard for drivers who have worn down their wiper blades over the course of winter. Keep visibility up by opting for new wiper blades.
Check Your Battery
Cold, winter air can be hard on batteries, meaning that by the time spring rolls around, battery capacity could be reduced by up to 60%.
Replace Air and Cabin Filters
Prevent spring allergens from getting into the cabin with a new cabin filter, and while you’re at it, change the air filter too in preparation of using your AC later.
Test All Exterior Lights
Drivers might think testing their vehicle’s lights is unnecessary when the days are getting longer, but it’s actually the best time of the year to correct any issues before they become a major problem.
Have the Engine Inspected
This is a routine part of vehicle maintenance anyway, but having a professional check out the engine tells you if you need to start preparing your car for spring by replacing engine parts that are getting old or worn.
For all of your car part replacement needs this spring, be sure to stop by Jack Miller Kia Parts.
As one of the oldest Japanese automotive companies, Isuzu has a long legacy of producing high quality automobiles and automotive parts. Today, Isuzu specializes largely in automobile parts and diesel engine innovation, but Isuzu has produced plenty of iconic cars and the company’s history has been important not just for Japan, but for the automotive industry as a whole. Read on to learn more about the history of Isuzu, and check out Jack Miller Kia Parts today!
Isuzu’s origins date all the way back to 1916. In 1934, the company produced a vehicle called the Isuzu, named after the nearby river. This is the origin of the Isuzu name, which was expanded to Isuzu Motors Limited in 1949.
Like many Japanese automotive companies, Isuzu saw a giant leap in development and innovation after the end of WWII. In response to a surge in popular demand for domestically-produced commercial vehicles, Isuzu rolled out several truck models that were crucial to Japanese reconstruction after the war.
Since then, Isuzu has been a leader in producing commercial vehicles, from light-duty trucks to heavy-duty buses. To date, Isuzu has produced a wide variety of consumer vehicles, including classics like the 1974 Gemini. Isuzu’s specialty remains in producing high-performance commercial vehicles and diesel engine development.

Changing a flat tire is a rather straightforward process, but not many drivers know how to do it. The popularity of roadside assistance has provided a convenience to many drivers, but the long wait for a simple tire change might not be worth it. Here’s how to change a flat tire on your own from us here at Jack Miller Kia Parts.
Raise the Car
Once you’ve come to a safe spot, the first step in changing a flat tire is to raise the car off the ground. To do this, remove the jack and spare tire from your Kia’s trunk. Remove the hubcap and loosen the tire’s lug nuts. Next, place the jack under the vehicle where the owner’s manual indicates. Raise the vehicle with the jack.
Replace the Tire
Now that the car is off the ground, finish removing the lug nuts. Pull the flat tire off the post by pulling directly towards your chest. Next, slide the spare tire onto the lug bolts and tighten the lug nuts by hand.
Lower the Car
With the spare tire in place, lower your Kia part of the way to the ground. Tighten the lug nuts again, then finish lowering the vehicle onto the ground. Replace the hubcap and return your tools to the trunk. Check the spare tire’s pressure, and you’re good to go.
If you spend a lot of time in your Kia, you should consider decorating it so as to make your car comfortable and fun while riding around. During the holiday season, this becomes a festive endeavor, as there are many ways to dress up your car for Christmas. Here are a few recommendations from us at Jack Miller Kia Parts to deck your car out for the holiday season.
Lights – A simple recommendation, but one that goes a long way to boost your holiday spirits. String lights on the interior or exterior, on the back window or front grille, or anywhere you choose (that won’t interfere with driving, of course). For the interior, you can get some convenient battery-operated, LED lights.
Ornaments, ribbons, and bows – Another simple touch you can add to your Kia is to hang your favorite ornament from your rear-view mirror, which will bring a smile to your face whenever you see it. Alternatively, you can string some red and green ribbons and bows around the interior of the car and air vents, or tie a wreath or red nose to the front grille.
Holiday scents – Our sense of smell can trigger warm emotions, and what better way to feel the holiday cheer then with some holiday-scented air fresheners. Pick a Christmas tree air freshener or one that smells like freshly-baked cookies, and they’ll surely make you feel happy while you are driving to see loved ones.
