U.S. News & World Report released its Best Choices for a New Car list not long ago. Five Kia models stand among the top 28 new cars of 2018. The editors made their choices based on the car’s price, cost of ownership, and predictability rating as determined by J.D. Power.
Of the 28 cars on the list, the 2018 Kia Soul stole the show and secured the number one spot. The Kia Soul earned a reliability score of 5/5 and an overall score of 9.1/10. The family model earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ and boasts an affordable starting price.
The Kia Rio came in second on the Best Choices for a New Car list. The editors noted its smooth performance, affordability, and intuitive technology as winning factors.
The 2018 Kia Niro earned recognition for its high fuel economy, and the spacious cabin makes it ideal for family vacations. Plus, its nimble handling and exhilarating performance prove the Kia Niro can be great for daily commutes.
The Kia Sportage boasts supportive seats and high safety scores. Those two factors netted it the top spot on the Best New Cars for Teens list. Those same features landed it a spot among the top 28 choices for a new car too!
When it comes to compact cars, the Kia Forte holds its own. Excellent fuel economy and a quiet cabin put it a touch above competitors, netting the Forte a spot on the list.

Every year, Parents magazine and Edmunds.com collaborate on a list of vehicles that are safe and functional enough for the modern family, while also having the style and capability drivers want. The Kia Soul was named as a Best Family Car for 2018, making the magazine’s Top 10 list in the category of SUV-Like Wagon, which is a hot segment this year. The 2018 Kia Soul also happened to beat out over 300 competitors for the coveted spot on the list.
Why did the Kia Soul win over the competition? Simple: with a low price tag, lots of value, safety tech, and functional features for everyday convenience, the Kia Soul is designed to be family-friendly from the inside out. Parents magazine also cited available features, like high-intensity headlamps and front crash-protection, as excellent investments for any drivers needing a new family hauler. Plus, the 2018 Kia Soul was the most affordable vehicle on the entire Top 10 list.
In addition to being nominated as a name on the Best Family Car list, the 2018 Kia Soul also offers eleven different color options, two different engines, and a variety of tech features like SiriusXM ®, Apple CarPlay ™ and Android Auto ™, and Bluetooth ® connectivity for hands-free voice command.

At the first-ever Professional Pickup and 4X4 Awards, the one-and-only Isuzu D-Max earned the coveted “Most Reliable Pickup Award.” Selected by a panel of twelve Pick-Up Professionals, the Isuzu D-Max impressed the judges with its high capabilities both on and off the road, as well as its high-quality build standards and workhorse spirit.
The new generation of the Isuzu D-Max introduces a powerful 1.9-liter turbo diesel engine, which boasts a 3.5-ton towing capacity and one-ton payload capacity, in addition to delivering a more sophisticated, more efficient, and quieter overall drive.
The judges also considered the “soft” benefits of purchasing an Isuzu D-Max: Isuzu D-Max owners can sleep easy at night thanks to advanced asset protections like a three-year paint warranty, a six-year anti-corrosion warranty, and a five-year/125,000-mile warranty, plus roadside rescue and recovery services.
The Isuzu D-Max was introduced in 2017. Still relatively new in the saturated pickup market, the Isuzu D-Max has already established a strong reputation as a hard-working, dependable truck for drivers looking for a sport, work, or combination pick-up.
On top of its Most Reliable Pickup Award, the new Isuzu D-Max also earned the “Pick Up of the Year” title at the 2018 WhatVan? Awards. The successes keep piling on for the exciting new Isuzu D-Max! Learn more about this workhorse right here at Jack Miller Kia.
The new 2018 Kia Sorento has just garnered top safety accolades from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). The 2018 Sorento, a midsize SUV, was awarded the IIHS’s most prestigious award and labeled a Top Safety Pick Plus (TSP+). In order for the 2018 Kia Sorento to earn this award, it had to meet essential safety criteria set forth by the IIHS: it had to “earn good ratings in five crashworthiness tests – driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, rood strength and head restraints – as well as an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention” (http://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings). The Sorento’s safety features will help you stay safe on the road, providing protection in the event of an accident.
The Top Safety Pick Plus award is linked to both the 2018 Kia Sorento SX Limited trim and the SX trim with Advanced Technology Package. These trim levels boast new, innovative headlights, as well as a remarkable list of standard safety features which include Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a variety of other innovative features designed with safety and control in mind. By giving this award to the 2018 Kia Sorento, the IIHS recognizes Kia’s commitment to safety on the road.
At Jack Miller Kia and Jack Miller Kia Parts, we’re committed to your safety as well and would love to talk to you more about what the 2018 Kia Sorento has to offer.
