Long road trips can be a boring experience, or, even worse, an aggravating one. If you have a car full of passengers, finding some games to play during your holiday road trip can be a great way to pass the time.
I Spy is a classic road trip game that’s perfect for both kids and adults. If you aren’t familiar with how the game works, one person picks an object and the others will try to guess the object. Depending on the age of those guessing, it may be best to stick to large objects, like trees, mountains, and landmarks.
Simply start the game by saying “I spy something that’s (color, size, or another hint).” I Spy can be great for holiday road trips, especially if you’re traveling with younger family members!
Prior to leaving on your holiday road trip, create a few Bingo boards with common sights instead of letters and numbers. Canadian license plates (state license plates work as well) are just one example you can use! The first player to complete a straight line wins. Once a player has won, start over!
There are many variations of Picnic, but the concept remains the same around the world. The game begins with “I’m going on a picnic. I’m bringing (an item that begins with the letter A).” The next person names an item with the letter B. Whoever can’t think of an item loses. The first to reach the end of the alphabet wins!
